Pese a no estar dedicada esta enciclopedia al 100 % al mundo del cine fantástico y de terror, si que hizo eco en algunos de sus tomos esta colección y por eso tiene totalmente cabida en este blog.
Empezó a ser editata en el año 1973 en los kioskos españoles de la mano de la editorial Buru Lan S.A. de ediciones al precio de 30 pesetas. Constaba de 8 tomos más un diccionario de actores, cada tomo estaba formado por 240 páginas con ilustraciones a todo color, además de estar encuadernados todos los tomos en tapa dura de cartón. También fue puesta a la venta en paises hispano parlantes como Puerto Rico, Venezuela y México.
Esta imagen que vemos en la parte superior pertenece al diccionario de actores y en ella obsevamos a actrices como: June Allyson, Bibi Andersson, Harriett Anderson y a Ursula Andress.
El tomo 16 de esta colección estaba dedicado a George Pal, los enigmas de otro mundo y las mutaciones, como se puede observar en esta escena de la mosca, que es portada del fascículo, con Vincent Price observando atentamente la telaraña.
El apartado dedicado a la ciencia ficción estaba escrito por el director José Luis Garci y empezaba haciendo una descripción de lo que es la Sci-Fi. También podemos ver a Jane Fonda en una imagen de la película de Robert Vadim, Barbarella del año 1968.
Las obras de Julio Verne también se vieron reflejadas en la gran pantalla, como por ejemplo: Viaje a la Luna, Viaje al Centro de la Tierra, 20.000 Leguas de Viaje Submarino, De la Tierra a la Luna, La Isla Misteriosa, etc... esto fue el motivo que aparecieran en esta colección de aparición semanal. También se hizo eco de las obras de H.G. Wells, como La Guerra de los Mundos, El Tiempo en sus Manos o Viaje a la Luna.
El Número 27 de la colección estaba dedicado por entero al vampirismo, monstruos humanos y humanoides. La portada estaba ocupada, como claramente se ve por el genial Christopher Lee interpretando a Drácula en la película del mismo nombre dirigida en 1958 por Terence Fisher.
En el interior del fascículo podemos ver como hacen la debida reseña de Drácula, donde se obseva el cartel de la versión de 1931 interpretada por Bela Lugosi y dirigida por Tod Browning, que aparece su cara también un poco más arriba. También vemos un poster de la versión de la Hammer del año 1958.

Solo por los dos portadones de "La Mosca" y de Christopher Lee ya merece la pena esta enciclopedia.
